Rescue Diver

The PADI Rescue Diver course is a pivotal step in your diving knowledge . Rescue divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well-being of other divers.

The rescue diver course will expand your basic problem prevention and accident management skills and train you to deal with more complex diving emergencies and to apply direct intervention techniques to assist others in an emergency.

The Rescue Diver certification is a pre-requisite for any diver wanting to continue on to a professional level of training.

The Rescue Diver Course consists of

  • pre-course independent study with the use of the PADI Rescue Diver Manual supplied as part of the course and by watching the Rescue Diver DVD loaned to you.
  • two pool sessions to complete 10 rescue skill exercises to allow you to develop and practice your rescue skills.
  • 1 day in open water to complete 4 open water scenarios pulling together all of the skills you develop throughout your course
  • an Emergency First Response first aid and Oxygen Adminstration course (not included in the price)

 

Emergency First Response CPR and First Aid Course.

As part of your Rescue Diver course you are required to have a current qualification in first aid and CPR (achieved within the last two years)

The EFR course applies latest techniques and skills in teaching you to be comfortable and confident in a range of skills. This course is designed to provide you with a recognised CPR and First Aid certificate that will be useful to you in any situation or industry as it is not specific to the diving industry.

The course covers

  • Primary care of an injured or ill person, including responsive and non-responsive patients
  • Rescue Breathing and CPR
  • Shock Management
  • Severe Bleeding
  • Spinal Care first aid
  • Oxygen Administration
  • Automated External Defibrillation
