PADI Open Water Course The PADI Open Water course is the first level of full certification in scuba diving. It allows you to dive to a maximum of 18m in open water independent of a dive professional - but always with a buddy. The Open Water certificate is for life, providing you are medically fit to dive, and does not need renewing or any subscription fees paid. The course consists of
At the start of the pool session you will be required to complete a 200m swim and a 10 minute float or tread water test. Minimum age to participate is 12 years. Please Note! PADI Open Water Referral It is possible to complete part of an Open Water course and complete any remaining sections at another PADI dive school almost anywhere else in the World. This is ideal for those of you who perhaps do not have enough time to complete the full course in the UK before going on holiday, or for those who do wish to dive in UK waters. The most popular choice is to complete all the theory and pool sessions here in the UK and then receive a referral document so that you can complete the 4 open water dives in warmer climates. This saves all the hassle on holiday of having to spend time in the classroom and in the pool before being able to dive. We are always happy to help you arrange your referral dives in the holiday location of your choice. The cost of the course is reduced to £220 as you will be required to pay your forwarding dive centre for your remaining 4 open water dives. Minimum age to participate in a Referral is 10 years of age.
